Rs 2.98 cr allotted for upgrading Yelagiri

Tourism Minister M Mathiventhan on Wednesday informed the Assembly that Rs 2.98 crore has been allotted for improving tourism in Yelagiri Hills.

Jolarpet MLA K Devaraji asked whether the botanical garden established at 100 acres by former chief minister M Karunanidhi and the boat house in Yelagiri will be revamped to develop tourism in the hills. Mathiventhan replied that under the Tourism Destination Scheme Yelagiri has been identified and already Rs 2.98 crore has been earmarked to attract tourists, both domestic and foreign.
