According to a release on Tuesday, Kandasamy, who reached Sri Lanka along with cooperative secretary Ashok Kumar and Managing Director of the Puducherry Co-Operative Milk Producers Union (Ponlait) Sarangapani on Monday visited the Sri Lanka Youth Empowerment Co-operative Society Ltd in Colombo and studied in detail the milk production and export by the cooperative society.
About 25 countries were members to NEDAC and Ponlait has also joined it as member for one year with effect from November 30, 2019.The Puducherry delegation which reached Sri Lanka following an invitation from NEDAC would take part in the Executive Committee Meeting which would be held on December 12,13 and 14.
Several co-operative institutions had participated in the exhibition conducted by the National Cooperative Development Council (NCDC) in New Delhi on October 11, 2019 when Ponlait entered into a two year agreement with Sri Lanka Youth Empowerment Co-operative Society.The agreement pertains to share their experiences and technology for the betterment of trade and commerce between the two institutions.
