Aravakurichi DMK MLA Senthil Balaji's Karur residence and office was searched for his involvement in a cheating complaint.

Also, the Central Crime Branch sealed his Mandaveli residence as it was locked. This was done in order prevent people get in and tamper with the proofs, if any.

Back in 2017, one Ganesh Kumar complained that the then Transport Minister Senthil Balaji cheated 16 people by promising transport department jobs in lieu for rupees 95 lakhs from each of them.
Charges of cheating were pressed against the former TTV Dhinakaran-loyalist.

The case is being investigated in the Chennai Metropolitan court. The cops landed at Senthil Balaji's residence while he was at Trichy, taking part in M K Stalin's meeting with the local body representatives of  DMK.

Senthil Balaji's parents and his brother were drilled by the team of 6 cops headed by a DSP. Moreover, He owns textile export industry which too was laid siege by the cops.

The search was focussed on the hunt for files that contain records of the Aravakurichi MLA's crime.

Senthil Balaji is known for his leapfrogging from one party to another. Post demise of AIADMK's supremo J Jayalalithaa, he pledged allegiance to TTV Dhinakaran and then to the rival camp of DMK. He was well invited by the DMK as he is now both an MLA and Karur secretary of the party.
