Petrol bomb hurled at BJP office in Coimbatore

On hearing some noise, the party men rushed out and found the petrol bomb in front of the party office.

COIMBATORE: Unidentified men hurled petrol bomb at the BJP office on VKK Menon Road in Coimbatore on Thursday night. However, it didn’t explode and the bottle was found intact with the wick. It is said, that a meeting of party functionaries was going on at the first floor of the building at around 9 pm, when the incident happened. On hearing some noise, the party men rushed out and found the petrol bomb in front of the party office. On receiving information, police personnel held inquiries and are checking the CCTV images to trace out the culprit. Police have stepped up security for the party office. Meanwhile, police on Thursday registered a case under SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against arrested BJP district president Uthamaramasamy for making derogatory remarks against DMK MP A Raja.
