CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Law Minister S Regupathy, who had a consultation meeting regarding the first round of law course admission said that the State will pass an ordinance to ban online rummy.
He stated: “An Ordinance for online rummy will be brought soon and necessary steps will be taken to make the Act strong enough not to be invalidated in any court."
The Minister issued the order for the admission process to all the government law colleges in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.
Out of a total of 1,731 seats in government law colleges in Tamil Nadu, around 1,300 seats were filled at the end of the first round of counselling. Remaining seats will be filled in the second round of consultation.
During the meeting, the Minister also discussed about NEET Exemption Bill and said that clarifications sought by the Governor regarding the Bill have been provided by the Public Welfare Department and the Law Department.
"So far, no response has been received from the Governor's House on the Bill to appoint Vice-Chancellors by the State Government," he added.
