CHENNAI: Even as expelled AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam (OPS) struggles with a Shakespearean dilemma over the next course of action, after being left with few choices, another loyalist, former MLA Subburathinam, has defected and joined the ruling DMK.

The long-time loyalist of the former Chief Minister squarely blamed OPS for what he called back-to-back failures to make timely and correct political decisions. He claimed that his former boss remains trapped in confusion and indecision.

Subburathinam’s departure follows growing frustration within OPS’s camp, particularly after the AIADMK Workers' Rights Retrieval Committee chief started dragging his feet over the next moves.

Despite having left the NDA citing a lack of respect, OPS continued to operate with the clear intention of realigning with the same coalition ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, alleged Subburathinam.

This perceived hesitation and lack of a firm stand, according to the former MLA, undermines their original goal of ensuring the defeat of Edappadi K Palaniswami.

Having travelled closely with OPS after his expulsion, Subburathinam’s defection to the DMK underscores Panneerselvam's dwindling support base.
