CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Police has frozen a total of 2,000 bank accounts of ganja dealers as part of Operation Ganja Vettai. Assets worth Rs 50 crore, money from 2,000 bank accounts have been frozen and 160 people have been arrested in the South Zone alone.

According to a report by Daily Thanthi, more than a hundred ganja dealers have been arrested, cases have been registered against them and investigation is underway.

According to the police, a number of peddlers have been booked across Chennai. In order to eliminate the use of narcotic substances, including cannabis, in Tamil Nadu, Director General of Police C Sylendra Babu ordered state-wide raids and asked police personnel to comply with the orders.
