CHENNAI: In the present technological development, even if online games are banned, they are still surfacing on the internet under different names, the judges of the Madurai bench of Madras High Court opined on Thursday.
The Judge said in the related case, "Banning it completely is impossible. In the current situation, parents and children are all immersed in mobile phones and do not talk to each other."
The Judges continued to add that they should protect themselves in the current technological development. Moreover, they also opined that the blood-like scenes in online games are inciting violence among children.
Earlier, the Tamil Nadu Cabinet on Monday approved an ordinance banning online gaming, and it will be promulgated after getting the assent of Governor RN Ravi, an official statement said. The Madras High Court had struck down the State's ban on online games like rummy and poker with stakes, and the Tamil Nadu government had then appealed to the Supreme Court.
