Officials flayed forcase against farmer

VELLORE: Heated arguments between DRO K Ramamurthy and farmers, who demanded to know why a case was foisted on a farmer near Pernambut over death of a leopard, marred the agricultural grievances day meeting in Vellore on Friday.

The issue pertains to farmer Mohan Babu of Serangal village being arrested following the death of a leopard on August 27. Tamilaga Vivasayigal Sangam state general secretary C Udayakumar demanded to know why the farmer was arrested when the DFO said the leopard did not die of electrocution.
