“The BJP headquarters has been instructed to gear up for the Parliament polls and PM Modi is likely to visit TN on January 23 and address a poll conference,” BJP state secretary Karu Nagarajan told DTNext. The party is holding video conference meetings for state office bearers and a series of election-related work is under pipeline, he said, adding, the venue and the timings are yet to be finalised.

Modi’s visit comes in the wake of the DMK and a few TN ministers expressing concern over the PM’s absence from Gaja-affected regions. Sources also said he may lay the foundation stone for the AIIMS hospital coming up at Madurai.
