The Congress national high command on Saturday released a new list of general secretaries, vice presidents, district presidents and election management committee members.

Unsurprisingly, heirs of almost all factional lords have been accommodated in the revamp.

Sons of former TNCC presidents KV Thangkabalu, Su Thirunavukkarasar, EVKS Elangovan were appointed general secretaries of the state party unit.

Among the revamp was businessman turned politician Ruby Manoharan who was appointed state party treasure. Manoharan had unsuccessfully contested in Nanguneri by poll.

A 34-member Pradesh Congress Committee with five ex-officio members would be headed by KS Alagiri. The Congress national leadership has also constituted an election propaganda/campaign committee headed by its former TNCC chief Su Thirunavukkarasar with 38 members.

In the same breath, Thangkabalu has been appointed head of the publicity committee.

Former party whip Peter Alphonse would head the manifesto committee which would prepare the election manifesto for the ensuing Assembly election. Incumbent MPs Karti P Chidambaram, B Manickam Tagore, S Jothimani and media wing head A Gopanna were appointed members of the manifesto committee.

Former IAS officer Sasikanth Senthil has been appointed member of the media coordination committee of the state Congress. INC has also formed a 19 member Election Co-ordination Committee headed by EVKS Elangovan to coordinate the Assembly poll works.

The party has filled vacancies in the district Congress committee by appointing district presidents.
