CHENNAI: Condemning the ruling DMK government for its laxity over the renowned musician A R Rahman's 'Marakkuma Nenjam' concert, the Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president K Annamalai on Tuesday said that the DMK government will not hesitate to go any heights to deceive the public in order to save their loved ones.

"I came to know that due to various defects in AR Rahman's concert, thousands of people had suffered a lot. Due to the total failure of the event organisers such as not providing proper seating, not managing the crowd, not making proper parking arrangements, the public has suffered, " Annamalai said in a statement.

Apart from this, the news of women being molested in the crowd is shocking and saddening, he said.

"What action has this corrupt government taken against event organisers who do not ensure women's safety? The event organisers didn't follow any precautions that should event organisers take before organising such a big event. The TN government also failed to monitor them and ensure proper arrangements have been made. Overall, both sides have failed in their duties and have made the public suffer, " added Annamalai.

Recalling the previous sexual harassment cases, the saffron party leader said that it is surprising that the corrupt DMK government has not yet taken action despite the large number of complaints and complaints about sexual harassment.

"You (DMK government) harass opposition parties through the state police even if they have done nothing wrong. The DMK is not new to the fact that even if their dependents do wrong, they do not look into that. But in such a major event, where thousands of people are affected, the DMK government's laxity is highly condemnable.

This incident has highlighted that the DMK will not hesitate to go to any heights to deceive the public in order to save their loved ones, " Annamalai said.
