Kovai positivity rate highest in TN at 6.6%; Chennai TPR at 1.7%

The State test positivity rate reduced to 2.4% after 20,316 samples were tested. The highest positivity rate reported in Coimbatore 6.6%, Krishnagiri 5.5%, Tirunelveli 5.2%, Erode 4.8%, and Chennai 1.7%.

CHENNAI: The number of Covid cases in Tamil Nadu further decreased and recorded 485 cases on Thursday, taking the total number of cases to 35,69,142. Chennai reported 72 cases, followed by Coimbatore 61 cases, Salem 35 cases, Chengalpattu 33 cases, Erode, Krishnagiri 31 cases each, and Kanniyakumari 29 cases. Two districts — Kallakurichi, and Perambalur — had zero cases. The State test positivity rate reduced to 2.4% after 20,316 samples were tested. The highest positivity rate reported in Coimbatore 6.6%, Krishnagiri 5.5%, Tirunelveli 5.2%, Erode 4.8%, and Chennai 1.7%. As many as 519 patients recovered and were discharged from various hospitals across the State on Thursday. At least 19,082 samples were tested during the last 24 hours.
