Kerala man kills self inside bus near Tirunelveli

The police identified the deceased as Saji Krishnan, who was reportedly suffering from psychological issues.

MADURAI: In a shocking incident, a 60-year-old Kerala man allegedly died by suicide by hanging inside a government sleeper bus travelling from Tirupur to Kanniyakumari on Friday (August 21).

The police identified the deceased as Saji Krishnan, who was reportedly suffering from psychological issues. He had boarded the bus in the late evening.

He allegedly took the extreme step when the bus was nearing Gangaikondan in Tirunelveli district. He had reportedly hanged himself with a towel on the horizontal rail inside the sleeper section of the bus.

On receiving information, police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. Further investigation is under way.
