Jothi Nirmalasamy has been named TN's State Election Commissioner

Jothi Nirmalasamy served as the secretary of the Commercial Taxes and Registration Department.

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government on Monday appointed B Jothi Nirmalasamy as the Commissioner of the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission. She would be succeeding V Palaniswamy. Hitherto, she was serving as secretary, Commerical Taxes and Registration department.

Chief Secretary Shiv Das Meena, in Rural Development and Panchayat Raj department's order, noted that the appended notification would be published in the Tamil Nadu.

According to the Tamil Nadu Panchayat Act (Tamil Nadu Act 21 0f 1994) Jothi Nirmalasamy would be holding the posting for a period of five years or until she attains the age of 65 years, which ever is earlier.
