IAF's Kanniyakumari to Kargil cycle rally flagged off

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An Indian Air Force (IAF) cycle rally from Kanniyakumari to Kargil, aimed at promoting national unity, was flagged off by Air Marshal Manish Khanna on Monday.

The rally, intended to create awareness among youth on national integration, physical fitness and a spirit of adventure, is being undertaken by a 12-member IAF team, including woman officer Sharavani, under the leadership of Chandrasekhar.

The team was flagged off from the Southern Air Command headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram. Covering a distance of 4,535 km, the cyclists will travel across the country and are scheduled to reach the Kargil War Memorial on October 22, officials said.
