Heavy to moderate rain for next 3 days across state

As low-pressure area continues to persist over northern parts of TN, regional meteorological centre (RMC) says that heavy to moderate rain is expected in various districts from Sunday (Oct 20) to Tuesday (Oct 22).

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) issued a heavy rainfall warning stating that heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Tamil Nadu including Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga, Pudukottai, Ariyalur, Perambalur, The Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Kanniyakumari and Cuddalore.


The State is expected to receive heavy widespread rain in the next five days under the influence of cyclonic formation that is likely to form low pressure over Tamil Nadu, said RMC officials.


As per RMC, the sky condition in the city is likely to be generally cloudy during the next 48 hours. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur in some areas as maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 33 degree Celsius and 25 degree Celsius respectively.
