Frequent dismissals worry Rajinikanth camp

Actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth’s forum Rajini Makkal Mandram has seen more than its fair share of internal turmoil with dismissals of key members happening quite often.

Recently, a third case of disciplinary action has been initiated in the Rajini Makkal Mandram against the district secretary of Villupuram after complaints from the members of the organisation. This follows action against office-bearers in Theni and Bodi.

MA Rajini Ibrahim has been dismissed as member of the Mandram and stripped of all responsibilities following an enquiry by the disciplinary action committee. R Ethiraj has been made secretary of Villupuram district. The action was taken following allegations levelled by the members across the district. However, the nature of the offence has not been made public.

It is learnt that the news has caused ripples among his supporters in the RMM, as they deliberate on why there are so many internal problems, even before the official launch of the party. The fact that the actor-turned-politician has been busy shooting out of Chennai since Kaala’s release has also not appealed to most members wishing to see their leader in person.
