Dry spell likely across Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, over coming week

As per its bulletin, light to moderate rain is likely at isolated places over south coastal Tamil Nadu from January 31 to February 2 (Day 4 to Day 6)

CHENNAI: Dry weather is likely to prevail across most parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal over the next seven days, with only isolated rain spells forecast over south coastal districts, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai.

As per its bulletin, light to moderate rain is likely at isolated places over south coastal Tamil Nadu from January 31 to February 2 (Day 4 to Day 6). The rest of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are expected to remain dry during this period. Dry weather is likely to prevail across the entire region on February 3 (Day 7).

Temperature outlook across Tamil Nadu

The RMC said there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. However, a slight fall in minimum temperatures is likely at isolated pockets between January 28 and February 1 (Day 1 to Day 5).

Minimum temperatures are expected to remain near normal across the region during this period.

For Chennai city and its neighbourhood, dry weather is likely to prevail on January 28 and 29, with partly cloudy skies on both days.

Maximum temperature: 29–30°C

Minimum temperature: Around 22°C

Rainfall: No rain is expected during the 24-hour period

Minimum temperature: Around 22°C
