TIRUCHY: School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi hit back at TVK president and actor Vijay on Tuesday over his rephrasing of Tirukkural, attacking the DMK, claiming that the tinsel town hero was playing with words just to entertain the cadre.
Anbil Mahesh asserted that the DMK had overcome several naysayers in the past, rubbishing the challenge posed by the fledgling TVK and its chief actor, Vijay.
DMK has faced a series of criticisms in the past. In all those cases, we have proved the critics wrong, leading to massive success in every election, which would be reflected in the upcoming Assembly polls tooAnbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi
Speaking to reporters in Tiruchy after garlanding the statue of CN Annadurai in view of his death anniversary, Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi said that Chief Minister MK Stalin has been dedicatedly working for the development of the people of Tamil Nadu, and the people have recognised the works and would hand over a thumping win for the ruling party.
Meanwhile, he stated that the DMK has been fulfilling the needs of the people and has thus earned a good reputation among them. He added that the party is committed to working for the people at all times.
He stated that the Union government's budget allocating 41 per cent of the tax share to the states was inadequate, while the states demand an increase to 50 per cent. “At this juncture, we may not be able to execute the projects for the state”, he said, referring to poor allocation and even bad realisation on the ground.
A fund of Rs 3,548 crore has not been released for the School Education Department and Rs 3,112 crore is yet to be released for Jal Jeevan Mission, the minister said. “The union budget does not care about Tamil Nadu and failed to release funds. It is a disappointing budget”, he added.
