CHENNAI: The DMK on Saturday (January 3) launched an artificial intelligence-based platform, mobile number, website and social media channels to collect public feedback and suggestions for its election manifesto for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, according to a press release issued by the Tamil Nadu government.

The platforms were launched by DMK president and Chief Minister MK Stalin at Anna Arivalayam as part of the party’s manifesto preparation exercise.

The press release said the DMK has constituted a 12-member election manifesto preparation committee under the leadership of party deputy general secretary Kanimozhi Karunanidhi. The committee will engage with the general public, businessmen, farmers, youth, women and people from all walks of life, and travel across Tamil Nadu to gather inputs for the manifesto.

Referring to the party’s previous performance, the release stated that the DMK had made 505 promises in its manifesto ahead of the 2021 Assembly elections, of which 404 promises — about 80% — have been fulfilled. It said 364 promises have been completed or are under implementation, while 40 announcements are under consideration by the government.

Of the remaining 101 promises, the release said 37 could not be fulfilled due to non-cooperation from the BJP-led Union government, including commitments such as cancelling the NEET examination and declaring the Thirukkural a national scripture. Another 64 promises could not be taken up owing to local protests, lack of cooperation and prevailing conditions.

The release further noted that several schemes were implemented by the Dravidian Model government despite not being part of the election manifesto.

These include the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme, Illam Thedi Kalvi, Ennum Ezhuthum, Pudumai Pen, Tamil Pudhalvan, Naam Muthalvan, the Aptitude Test Scheme, Thozhi Hostels, Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam, Innuyir Kappom – Nammai Kaakkum 48, Kalaignar’s All Village Integrated Agricultural Development Scheme, the Green Tamil Nadu Mission, Thayumanavar Scheme, Anbu Karangal, representation for the differently-abled in local bodies, Kalaignar’s Kanavu Illam, stamp duty concession for properties registered in women’s names, allotment of Urban Habitat Development Board houses exclusively in women’s names, and the “Ungaludan Stalin” initiative.

Stating that the DMK is preparing the manifesto for the upcoming Dravidian Model 2.0 government, the release appealed to people across Tamil Nadu to actively participate in the process by sharing ideas and suggestions for the State’s development.
