DMK formally invites Kamal for rally on December 23

DMK organisation secretary RS Bharathi along with his party colleagues met Makkal Needhi Maiam founder and president Kamal Haasan on Thursday and invited the latter to participate in the December 23 rally against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Earlier, DMK president MK Stalin said that the party would invite actor-politician Kamal Haasan to participate in the rally. DMK and its allies, in a meeting, had decided to conduct a rally against the Citizenship Amendment Act on December 23.

Meanwhile, the MNM had already clarified that the party would participate in the rally if DMK invites.

“Kamal Haasan spoke to me over the phone and wanted to participate in the meeting. MNM will be invited to participate in the rally,” Stalin had said after the meeting held in Chennai on Wednesday.

As many as 11 parties, which are part of the DMK alliance took part in the meeting and decided to conduct a rally in Chennai against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
