DMDK meet on civic polls tomorrow

DMDK founder Vijayakant on Tuesday called for a meeting of party district secretaries on Thursday, November 7.

According to party sources, “After the major parties have geared up for local body polls the party leaders have called for the meeting of district secretaries to discuss about the local body polls. The party will continue in the AIADMK alliance as it is expected to receive a substantial share of seats in northern districts.”


Following the victory of the AIADMK in two bypoll constituencies, the mood is upbeat in not just in the ruling party, but also in the camps of alliance parties. DMDK and PMK played a substantial role in the victory of AIADMK in Vikravandi by-election and recognising the contribution of the parties AIADMK has decided to allot substantial number of seats in the upcoming local body elections to retain the alliance in 2021 state Assembly elections.
