CHENNAI: A train stopped halfway on the Arakkonam-Chennai rail section after a crack was found on the track near Arakkonam.

A train from Trivandrum to Chennai found a crack on the track while approaching Puliyamangalam station next to Arakkonam.

As the engine section of the train crossed the track, the loco pilot stopped the train after hearing a loud noise.

Railway officials have reached the spot and are repairing the crack, according to a Thanthi TV report.

Chennai-bound express trains run via Arakkonam on alternate routes after this incident.
