Collector holds meet on model code of conduct

The do’s and don’ts of the model code of conduct which came into force from Sunday when the parliamentary polls were announced, were discussed in detail by collector SA Raman with representatives of various political parties on Monday.

Raman said this was to emphasize the importance of the model code to ensure a free and fair election. Calling upon political parties and their representatives to hand over to the nearest government office vehicles given for their (politicians) use, he said.


Similarly, government buildings used by them (MLAs offices) should also be handed over and no election related meetings or canvassing should be undertaken in the offices, he added..


Parties should also not to draw party symbols and party graffiti on the walls of public buildings.
