The name of a Coimbatore voter appearing in Hindi in the photo electoral rolls released ahead of the urban body polls has drawn flak from the public after it was widely circulated on social media.

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Rajagopal Sunkara later said, “As per the ECI, the Corporation will only check the details of MP, MLAs’ and important persons in their respective constituencies. In the electoral rolls released, the names of Manoj Kumar and his father Suraj were in Hindi. Hence the same was released without change. If Manoj Kumar seeks a change, it can be done.”
