CHENNAI: Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Monday held back-to-back meetings with the leading industry bodies FICCI and the Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), as the State government stepped up consultations with corporate stakeholders to accelerate investments, industrial growth, and business reforms.
The meetings, held at the Secretariat, focused on strengthening the State's long-term economic roadmap by fast-tracking industrial expansion, improving ease of doing business and creating a more investment-friendly ecosystem.
In his interaction with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Vijay discussed measures to accelerate industrial growth and attract new investments to the State. The Chief Minister appreciated the organisation's contribution to Tamil Nadu's industrial development and assured the delegation that the suggestions and recommendations presented to the government would be carefully examined.
According to an official release, Vijay also sought FICCI's continued guidance in Tamil Nadu's efforts to emerge as one of the country's leading economic powers.
Soon after, the Chief Minister held a separate meeting with a high-level delegation from the Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), during which discussions focused on simplifying commercial procedures and further improving the business climate in the State.
Vijay acknowledged MCCI's role as a bridge between industry and the government and urged the chamber to continue extending its support and guidance to strengthen investor confidence and promote economic growth.
The meetings are being viewed as part of the new government's broader outreach to industry stakeholders aimed at reinforcing policy stability and projecting Tamil Nadu as a preferred destination for investments.
The FICCI delegation included Tamil Nadu State Council Chairman GSK Velu, co-chairs Bhoopesh Nagarajan and Ashok Varghese, State Council head R Sudarsan and Trivitron Healthcare external affairs head Sreedharan. The MCCI delegation comprised president Ramkumar Sankar, vice-president A Viswanathan and secretary-general K Saraswathi.
