TIRUCHY: In a veiled attack on the leading opposition AIADMK and NTK chief coordinator Seeman, the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) chief Thol Thirumavalavan lashed out at political outfits that project themselves as Dravidian or Tamil nationalist forces, but covertly align with the Sanatana ideology, referring to the BJP and other Hindutva right-wing forces.
Without naming parties, Thiruma said such groups were operating with the backing of Sanatana forces while masking themselves in Dravidianism and Tamil nationalism.
Addressing the inauguration of the MDMK’s Samathuva Nadai Payanam in Tiruchy, Thiruma said that such covert activities will fail in the straight battle between secular and Sanatana forces, with the DMK-led alliance emerging victorious and forming the government.
Thirumavalavan asserted that Chief Minister MK Stalin had earned the moral authority to project himself as a champion of secularism and social equality, citing his consistent opposition to Sanatana ideology as evidence.
Thirumavalavan said the Dravidian model government stands firmly for secularism and equality, rooted in the ideals of social justice articulated by Periyar EV Ramasamy and Dr BR Ambedkar.
He said the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance represents a fight for equality, while its opponents constituted a “Sanatana alliance,” making the upcoming polls a clear ideological contest. “This election is a war between secularism and Sanatana forces,” he said.
