CHENNAI: Chief Minister and DMK president MK Stalin, on Saturday, expressed confidence of winning more than 200 seats in the Assembly polls, underscoring the impact of fieldwork carried out by party cadres ahead of the crucial election.

“We will return to the House with 200-plus MLAs,” Stalin said, participating in Pongal celebrations at Perambur in Chennai. He added that the achievements of Dravidian model schemes, implemented since 2021, are self-explanatory.

Appreciating the DMK cadres for their election-related work, Stalin said nearly 50 per cent of the preparatory work has already been completed, while the remaining work is in progress.

“All political parties, including our ideological opponent, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) envies our preparatory work. Earlier, based on the cadres’ work, I had predicted that the DMK could win around 200 seats. Now, after evaluating their efforts, I am confident that the party will win more than 200 seats,” he said.

Concluding his speech, the Chief Minister urged party workers to ensure a massive victory in the upcoming election.

Minister PK Sekarbabu and Chennai Corporation Mayor R Priya participated in the event.
