Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy filed a case against his political fifth-column MK Stalin on the grounds of defamation.

Attending a marriage ceremony DMK's supremo MK Stalin took a swipe at CM Palanisamy's governance to the extent of doubting the credentials of those who felicitated Tamil Nadu government with the best governance award.

Gowri Asokan, represented the government and filed 2 petitions with this regard.

It was mentioned in the petition that Stalin's remarks were canards against the Chief Minister, it was aimed to bring ill-fame to the Tamil Nadu government. It urged Stalin should be held accountable for his remarks.
