City records highest number of active cases with 2,245 Covid count

A total of 466 more people recovered. Total recoveries crossed 35.44 lakh. No new COVID fatality was recorded in the past 24 hours. Death toll remained at 38,048.

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu reported 329 new COVID cases on Monday. Total number of cases in the State crossed 35.87 lakh. Chennai got 83 new cases, Chengalpattu had 27 cases and Coimbatore had 25 cases. Other districts reported less than 20 cases. TN’s test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 2.8% after 11,954 samples were tested in the past 24 hours. The highest TPR of 6.1% in Ranipet. Active cases in the State stood at 4,570 with the highest in Chennai – 2,245 active cases. A total of 466 more people recovered. Total recoveries crossed 35.44 lakh. No new COVID fatality was recorded in the past 24 hours. Death toll remained at 38,048.
