According to the complaint, Al Asiana agency, an overseas recruitment company at TVS Tollgate in Tiruchy, promised to provide employment to them in various countries. Believing the promise, around 100 youth from various places, including Pudukkottai and Karambakudi, paid sums ranging between Rs 1.50 lakh and Rs 2.50 lakh. Some of these aspirants have already worked in countries like Malaysia, Singapore and Dubai. But all of them were forced to return in three months as they were sent only on tourist visa by their previous recruitment agencies.

On Monday around 10 aspirants submitted a petition to the city Commissioner of Police A Amalraj demanding action against the agency and their proprietors Sumesh and his wife Swapna.

The aspirants alleged that they earlier approached Sumesh to return their money but he went absconding. The anxious youth said that they approached the commissioner seeking the help of police to get back their money. The commissioner received their complaint and assured to take necessary action.
