They found that it was clinging to one of the weak branches on the top of the tree and was not able to wriggle out. Its distress increased by the minute. As they were unable to help it, the people in the neighbourhood realised that it could not go hungry for long and they came together to rescue the animal. They informed the fire and rescue personnel who swung into action immediately.

“We have been carrying out many rescue operations involving different kinds of animals, but this is the first time that a cat has been rescued by us. One of our fire fighters climbed the tree using a ladder and brought the cat down in a bag. The cat appeared scared, but became normal and moved away once it was brought down,” said an officer from the fire and rescue department.

It took nearly one and a half hours of efforts to rescue and bring the cat down to safety. The cat was then examined by a veterinarian and it was found to be hale and healthy.
