BLAs begin collecting Form 6 of deleted voters

As per Election Commission rules, each BLA is authorised to facilitate the submission of Form 6 for voter inclusion.

Chennai: Booth Level Agents (BLAs) have begun assisting voters in filling out Form 6 for the inclusion of names excluded from the draft electoral roll released on December 19.

As per Election Commission rules, each BLA is authorised to facilitate the submission of Form 6 for voter inclusion. Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik said so far, 1.65 lakh Form 6 applications were submitted.

Of these, BLAs from the AIADMK and DMK have submitted 22 and 24 forms, respectively. Recognised political parties are permitted to appoint agents for each polling booth.

In Tamil Nadu, 12 recognised political parties have together appointed 2.64 lakh Booth Level Agents. Meanwhile, the Election Department has announced special camps across the State on December 27 and 28, and January 3 and 4.
