BJP man held for derogatory post on Stalin

Sources said that, Vignesh (27), a resident of Karur and union secretary of BJP youth wing of Karur East unit, had uploaded a photoshopped poster of Chief Minister, Tamil Nadu Finance Minister PTR Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, VCK Chief Thol Thirumavalvan and other DMK alliance party leaders portraying them in a bad light.

Tiruchy: In yet another case of attack on leaders on social media, a BJP functionary from Karur was arrested on Tuesday for sharing a ridiculing post against Chief Minister MK Stalin and other leaders.

Sources said that, Vignesh (27), a resident of Karur and union secretary of BJP youth wing of Karur East unit, had uploaded a photoshopped poster of Chief Minister, Tamil Nadu Finance Minister PTR Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, VCK Chief Thol Thirumavalvan and other DMK alliance party leaders portraying them in a bad light.

The post was shared on social media for multiple times by several users.

Meanwhile, Deepak, the DMK IT wing office bearer from Karur, who collected the details and recorded the social media poster of Vignesh, lodged a complaint with the Vangal police who registered a case under the relevant provisions in the law and arrested Vignesh.

Subsequently, the Vangal police produced the BJP youth wing functionary before the Karur Judicial Magistrate Court. After hearing the case against Vignesh, the Judicial Magistrate, Ambika, issued an order to remand the BJP functionary for 15 days.

Later, the youth wing functionary was lodged in the Karur sub-Jail.
