In a statement, Ramadoss said, “PMK has obtained 5.4 percentage votes in this Parliamentary elections and this is the best result for the PMK in the last 10 years. Going by the votes, PMK had not lost or affected by the election results.”

The PMK faced the 17th Lok Sabha elections in the AIADMK alliance and contested in 7 seats. But, lost in all the seven seats. Electoral alliance with AIADMK and BJP was blamed as reason for the PMK’s defeat.

However, Ramadoss said that they have gained votes when compared to the previous election. “PMK contested alone in 2016 constituency and obtained more than 5 percentage votes but now in AIADMK alliance they contested in only seven constituencies and obtained 5.4 percentage, higher than the previous elections,” explained Ramadoss.

Through the statement, Ramadoss called upon the PMK cadres to work hard and to take the policies of the party to the people directly.
