Raising the issue during zero hour, K Navaskani, member from Ramanathapuram, said the post has been lying vacant since the death of an assistant professor 18 years ago.

He referred to the Tamil Nadu government’s offer of financial assistance to the University for appointment of a Tamil professor and wanted Centre’s intervention on this.

Meanwhile, A Ganesamurthy of MDMK wanted procurement of turmeric grown in Erode directly by NAFED so that farmers get good prices, which they were being denied now.
