Coimbatore: Even as police grapple in the dark over continuous bomb threat mails, the Coimbatore District Collectorate received a hoax bomb threat yet again on Monday, triggering panic moments.

While the grievance meeting chaired by District Collector Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar was underway, an email was received at the official mail around 10.50 am.

The sender warned that a bomb had been planted on the premises and it would explode shortly.

On receiving an alert, the police personnel from Race Course station and sleuths of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad rushed to the spot and conducted a thorough search at the collectorate complex.

With this, the police sources said the collectorate had so far received around 19 bomb threats over the past few months. A special team from the cybercrime wing has been formed to trace the culprit.
