Annamalai University to get research park: Minister MRK Panneerselvam

The minister announced while distributing laptops to students at a function held at the university’s Sastri Hall. He said the government planned to implement several development projects at the university, citing its land availability and infrastructure.

CUDDALORE: A research park will be established soon at Annamalai University in Chidambaram, State Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister MRK Panneerselvam said on Monday.

The minister announced while distributing laptops to students at a function held at the university’s Sastri Hall. He said the government planned to implement several development projects at the university, citing its land availability and infrastructure.

Panneerselvam added that Chief Minister MK Stalin had launched a scheme to distribute laptops to 10 lakh students across the State. Under the scheme, 856 students of Annamalai University will receive laptops, he stated.

Cuddalore district collector SP Adithya Senthilkumar presided over the event, while Kattumannarkoil MLA Sinthanai Selvan was present. Cuddalore Government Medical College dean C Tirupati, university joint registrar Jagatheeswaran, public relations officer Suresh, Annamalai Nagar town panchayat chairperson K Palani, faculty heads, professors and students attended the programme. University registrar R Singaravel proposed the vote of thanks.
