AIADMK to protest lack of 3-phase power for Veppanahalli farmers

The party would pressure the TN government to immediately provide three-phase power connection to guarantee the livelihood of the farmers.

CHENNAI: The AIADMK announced a protest in Shoolagiri to condemn the ruling DMK government for not providing a three-phase power connection for farming activities in Veppanahalli in Krishnagiri district.

During the protest, the opposition party would press the DMK government to immediately provide a three-phase power connection to support farming in 45,000 acres of land in Veppanahalli and safeguard the livelihoods of the farmers, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami said.

The former CM urged the public and merchants to participate in large numbers to show solidarity with the farming community.

The protest, to be held on September 30, will see the attendance of AIADMK deputy general secretary and former minister KP Munusamy and party functionaries.
