CHENNAI: AIADMK on Wednesday accused the DMK government of misleading the people of the state by claiming that global electronics manufacturer Foxconn had committed to a Rs 15,000 crore investment in the State.
In a statement, the AIADMK said the government had indulged in “propaganda” by projecting the announcement as a major achievement of Chief Minister MK Stalin, only for the company to clarify within a day that no new commitments had been made.
The opposition party described the development as an embarrassment for the State and alleged that it reflected the ruling party’s “habit” of making exaggerated claims.
The AIADMK also questioned the outcome of the Chief Minister’s foreign visits. “Not a single tangible project has materialised on the ground. While global firms such as Google are announcing large-scale investments in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu is left with announcements that do not translate into reality,” it said.
Arguing that the issue was symptomatic of what it called “the larger fraud” of the DMK government, the AIADMK said people deserved “truth, transparency, and real progress, not public relations stunts and fabricated achievements.”
The party asserted that the state needed “genuine growth and prosperity” and pledged to provide it if voted back to power in 2026.
