CHENNAI: Urging the Tamil Nadu government to appoint nurses to cater to the increasing need of nursing staff in a number of hospitals across the State.
He issued a statement on the issue saying it is condemnable that the State government is not doing enough on this regard.
Seeman said 11 new medical colleges have been opened excluding the existing colleges where the number of beds have been augmented by nurses are understaffed. This becomes a problem for patients who aren't getting the necessary treatment on time and also a burden for the lesser number of staffers available.
The NTK leader further said such work stress could take a toll on the staffers' physical and mental health which could, in turn, jeopardise patients' health. "Naam Tamilar Katchi urges to recruit sufficient nursing staff for all the government hospitals", he added.
