Activist dressed like pregnant woman submits petition for maternity aid

An activist dressed as a pregnant woman petitioned the district administration demanding the distribution of financial assistance to pregnant women under the Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Benefit scheme.

The petitioner, Periyar Mani from Kinathukadavu alleged that distribution of financial assistance to pregnant women under the scheme has been pending over the last several months in the state. 

“Poor women and children are affected due to the delay in disbursing financial assistance,” he claimed in the petition. 

The activist is known for dressing up in different ways to raise common issues. He once came to the collector office dressed up as a beggar demanding the government to issue books to school students.
