8-month pregnant head constable dies in accident at Kanniyakumari

The fellow police personnel paid homage and consoled the grief stricken family of the deceased. Based on a complaint, Manavalakurichi police have filed a case, sources said.

MADURAI: Woman head constable, who’s posted in Vellisanthai police of Kanniyakumari district, was killed in an accident, which occurred near Ammandivilai on Tuesday evening. The deceased has been identified as Usha, who was eight months pregnant, sources said. The accident occurred while the cop was returning home by a two-wheeler after work. Another person, who was traveling on a bike, hit the cop’s vehicle. Usha, the victim suffered head injuries and blood loss and was rushed to a private hospital, where a doctor declared her as brought dead. The fellow police personnel paid homage and consoled the grief stricken family of the deceased. Based on a complaint, Manavalakurichi police have filed a case, sources said.
