Namakkal: 4 killed in accident after firecrackers kept in house explodes

CHENNAI: Four were killed, including an elderly woman in an accident on early Saturday morning at Mohanur in Namakkal district after firecrackers kept in a house exploded, according to a Maalaimalar report.

According to the report, the owner of the fireworks outlet, his wife, his mother, and an elderly woman from the neighbourhood were killed in the accident.

Five others were seriously injured. The injured persons were rescued and admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital in Namakkal, where they are being treated. Police are investigating the matter.
