133 rowdies arrested in 24 hours across Tamil Nadu

According to an official communication from the State police, said fifteen accused who had warrant issued against them were remanded in judicial custody.

CHENNAI: In a state-wide ‘Drive Against Rowdy Elements’ (DARE), Tamil Nadu police arrested 133 rowdies and gangsters in 24 hours.

According to an official communication from the State police, said fifteen accused who had warrant issued against them were remanded in judicial custody. Moreover, 13 rowdies, categorised under A+ who were absconding for several years were also arrested.

They have several murder and theft cases against them, said the police. The police are conducting enquiries with other 105 people who were nabbed during the rapid arrests.

A police officer said that their personnel gathered intelligence and identified hideouts of notorious gangsters across the State and those with criminal records too were picked up in the operation.
