Batting first, Ayush Pandey (129) and Alok Sahu (67) powered Chhattisgarh to 263 for three in its stipulated overs. Chasing just over five runs an over, Tamil Nadu was in a spot of bother at 66 for four. Arjun and RS Mokit Hariharan (83) then stitched a match-winning 170-run stand for the fifth wicket. The former’s innings was laced with 15 boundaries and seven maximums, while the latter smacked 11 fours and two sixes.
Brief scores: Chhattisgarh 263 for 3 in 50 overs (Alok Sahu 67, Ayush Pandey 129, Anurag Mishra 39, P Nirmal Kumar 3/42) lost to Tamil Nadu 264 for 6 in 45.4 overs (Arjun P Murthy 136, RS Mokit Hariharan 83).
