Akashkumar, Viswanathan guide Madras Indians CC to win

G Akashkumar (113) and T Viswanathan (6/10) dished out stunning performances as Madras Indians Cricket Club trounced Bank of India Sports and Recreation Club by 221 runs in a TNCA Sixth Division ‘A’ match here.

Batting first, Madras Indians posted a huge total of 263, courtesy of Akashkumar’s entertaining knock. His 61-ball 113 was studded with 21 fours and a maximum. Chasing 264 for a win, Bank of India got bowled out in double quick time for 42. Viswanathan was the wreaker-in-chief for the winning side, scalping six wickets for just 10 runs. V Yogarajan (4/4) was also impressive with the ball, contributing four wickets.
