After reports of a Tamil Nadu man running nude and biting a woman to death a few days ago, a UP man on Monday called up the District Magistrate’s control room and asked for samosas with chutney. Finally, he did get his wish granted, but was also handed a punishment that the authorities hope he will never forget.

District Magistrate of Rampur in Uttar Pradesh Aunjaneya Kumar tweeted about a man who kept calling the district’s control room and demanding four samosas with chutney.

The official said that despite multiple warnings, the man kept calling. So the official finally had the four samosas sent to the man, but also the order of a punishment he would have to serve. The man was ordered to clean a local drain as punishment for the calls he made to the control room.

The official also shared a photo showing the man serving his punishment. In another tweet, he wrote that people who misused the system are now cleaning the drain and helping the administration.

“You too can support us at the time of this national disaster. Be responsible citizens. Stay healthy, stay safe,” he wrote.

Many came across the now-viral tweet and said the punishment was deserved. They lauded the District Magistrate for taking action against  those who create unnecessary hurdles instead of helping to tackle the situation at hand
