CRPF jawan martyred, two injured in fidayeen attack in Kashmir

A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was martyred and two others were injured in a fidayeen attack on their camp in south Kashmir district of Pulwama in the wee hours of Sunday.

Official sources told UNI that a  group of two to three militants hurled grenades and resorted to indiscriminate firing with automatic weapons on the sentry posted at main gate of a CRPF camp at Lathpora Ladoo in Pulwama.

In the initial firing, three CRPF personnel were injured, they said adding that the militants later managed to enter the camp.

The injured were rushed to hospital where one of them succumbed to death.

Exchange of firing continued between militants hiding in a building inside the camp and security forces till the last reports came in.
